Production Technician

Location: Richmond, BC, On-site

Role Type: 3-month Contract, Part-time

Job Description

We are looking for technician(s) to join the Production group. The successful candidate(s) will manufacture our flow battery cathodes Zaero Tex for upcoming project deliverables.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Production of ABOUND’s flow battery air cathodes
  • Maintaining a clean and organized production space
  • Minimizing off-spec material and other waste
  • Routine preventative maintenance of production equipment
  • Quality control measurements and data recording
  • Working with production engineers/equipment vendors to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Proper storage and disposal of chemical waste
  • Complete core duties as outlined, along with other tasks as assigned to support operational needs
  • Demonstrate flexibility by addressing ad-hoc requests and emerging priorities effectively

Minimum Qualifications

  • Educational background in Chemistry, Science & Technology, or Engineering
  • Strong focus on safety – you will be working in a lab/factory setting with hazardous chemicals, as well as high-voltage, high-temperature equipment
  • Experience working with light/medium size production equipment
  • Experience working in a chemistry lab and/or production facility
  • Physically able to stand for an entire shift; able to lift and carry weights of up to 50 lbs
  • Able to wear a properly fitted half-face mask respirator (i.e. are clean shaven)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be fluent in English with strong communication skills

  • Able to interface with colleagues from different educational and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills to handle unpredictable tasks
  • Experience managing raw material inventory and purchasing
  • Experience managing laboratory safety
  • Experience working with catalyst ink is a plus

Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and overall fit for the position. This is a 3-month fixed-term contract position. At the end of the contract term, the position will conclude unless the parties mutually agree to an extension or a transition to full-time employment.
