Zinc8 Energy Solutions, a developer of innovative zinc battery technology, has received support from U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer to establish a commercial manufacturing facility in Ulster, New York at the former TechCity site location.

Senator Schumer’s office said in a press release that Zinc8’s cutting-edge battery technology aligns perfectly with his work to expand battery storage capabilities as part of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Job Acts passed in 2021. The Act set aside $6 billion for federal incentives meant to expand the capabilities of U.S-based battery research and development.
